We’ve seen a lot of experiments with 3D printed footwear over the last years but ‘Melonia’ by Naim Josefi is different. To us, this is the first 3D printed couture shoe that’s actual looks great and which is wearable without being bizarre or eerie. But the ‘Melonia’ high-heels are more than just good looks.
The ‘Melonia’ high-heels are products for an industrial ecology. Due to the homogeneous material they are easier to recycle and create a closed sustainability loop. A new vision for the shoe production by which it is to be able to go to a shop where you can scan your foot, and print your own shoes. These could after usage be reprinted into a new pair. Bottom line: an ideal society through (amongst others) beautiful 3D printed shoes. Isn’t this every girl’s dream ? (insert grin here) However, great idea from this very talented designer. www.naimjosefi.com
