Baseball is what we associate the American accessory brand Coach with but also effortless New York style. A baseball was the starting point and inspiration of the brand about 75 years ago. Inspired by the unique patina and soft texture of a worn-out baseball glove, a team of six craftsmen set one goal: to create a kind of leather with a different and unique touch. Using ancient techniques handed down from generation to generation, these craftsmen designed the first collection of Coach accessories, tanned like a glove.
Started in 1941 as a family-run workshop in New York City, Coach were pioneers in leather goods and accessories, establishing themselves as the original American house of leather during the second half of the 20th Century. Coach went on to define “accessible luxury” for a generation. Beginning in North America, Coach delivered an alternative to traditional luxury. Then, Coach expanded beyond its home market, becoming the first American company in its category to bring international relevance to an American leather goods brand. Today the Coach name is synonymous with effortless New York style.
The advertising campaign
The new videocampaign, directed by E-TV (Etvonweb), represents two bloggers: Claire better known under the name of MilkyWayBlueEyes and Elien and her blog Dogs & Dresses ready to embark for a “road trip” through the streets of Brussels. The two young women perfectly embody the free spirit revealed by their lifestyle from the moment they wake up in the suite of The Hotel till the moment they take place behind the steering wheel of a beautiful Audi A3 Cabriolet to go for a refreshing dive and relaxing massage at the Deep Nature Spa. Before doing some shopping in a charming little shop called “The Preface” they enjoy the breathtaking view on the capital that the The Villa In the Sky has to offer. A perfect extrapolation of the energie and New York urban style that the Coach Eau de Parfum embodies.
A floriental fruity scent
Coach Eau de Parfum is inspired by the spontaneous energy and downtown style of New York City. It is a fragrance full of contrasts—spirited and sparkling, yet sensual and feminine. Coach Eau de Parfum opens with bright, sparkling raspberry which gives way to creamy Turkish roses, before drying down to a sensual suede musk base note. It is the essence of the Coach Woman. Created by perfumers Anne Flipo and Juliette Karagueuzoglou, it is inspired by the brand’s iconic codes in an olfactory interpretation of modern luxury rooted in the cool, urban ambiance of New York. Like the brand’s leather creations, it is the ultimate timeless accessory.
Top notes: rasberry leaf, pink pepper and pear
Heart notes: Turkish rose, gardenia and cyclamen
Base notes: suede musk, sandalwood and cashmere wood
The feminine, sensual bottle – a heavy glass oval is emblematic of the Coach brand. Its spray cap is shaped like a gold turnlock imitating the iconic clasp of Coach’s most famous bags. The brand’s distinctive hangtag in ebony leather and gilt metal is a luxurious finishing touch, while the horse and carriage logo, an enduring symbol of Coach craftsmanship, is subtly engraved into the glass.
