There was a time when eating insects was a curiosity, a snobbish activity for people with time and money (and too much food) on their hands. Then came a time that chefs started experimenting with edible bugs in order to explore alternative food sources. The next step: perhaps in a far or nearby future people will be forced to eat insects as a source of proteins because meat has become scarce and other natural resources have been exhausted.
Within that context cookware brand Kitchenaid collaborated with Mansour Ourasanah to create this (concept) kitchen terrarium called ‘Lepsis’ to encourage people into eating insects. While this might seem strange to some, in a lot of parts of the world eating insects is currently a very common thing and considered a great alternative source of proteins. Question: would you fancy an insect seasoned dinner ?
