Technology’s fast pace has left in its path mountains of electronic waste. The perfect habitat for eco-designers such as Chilean Rodrigo Alonso. His ‘N+ew’ design chairs are born out of old cd’s, computer keyboards, multi-colored cables and what’s more all immortalized in an epoxy resin injected mold which give its creations a post-industrial yet smooth look thanks to the resin finish. Take a second look and consider that it’s more than just a design object. Suppose that future civilizations would find these resin cubes in deserted areas around the world? It would give them an enormous insight into our world of today, for sure. We know, we’re taking this too far, but we just love Alonso’s idea. It’s a great way to recycle all that techno-garbage that separately would take an eternity to recycle. The ‘N+ew’ objects are made to order in different colors.
