No, the punchline ‘So great, so delicious’ for Rio Mare tuna wasn’t invented by WOW*. Au contraire, we saw Kevin Costner in a Rio Mare commercial actually expressing these proper words. Together with this gastronomic prophecy, you have to imagine a Mediterranean scenery where Costner sits at a table while a few Italian women are staring in total admiration at the famous movie star… or is it the tuna they’re looking at ? Never mind. At first we thought that setting was a little bit awkward for the Waterworld action hero but then again we agree that Rio Mare tuna is actually very delicious. The proof of the tuna is in the eating: we got a masterclass tuna recipes of Belgian chef Jeroen Depauw in which he showed us a few tasty examples on how to make yummy things with Rio Mare tuna. Check out above.
We don’t want to be pretentious, but we ourselves love to mix it up at the kitchen isle and cook some nice things every now and then. The pasta dish below for example, with Rio Mare tuna of course. Ingredients and preparation instructions below. Enjoy !

2 cans of Rio Mare tuna (without olive oil)
Spirelli pasta for about 4 persons (you have specific devices to measure the quantity)
One small chunk of garlic
One firm onion
3 fresh tomatoes chopped into small dices (remove the core of the tomatoes first)
Add olive oil in a high frying pan and add the nicely chopped onion. Stir fry for a moment.
Press the chunk of garlic through a garlic press. Add into the frying pan. Stir and let it simmer some more.
Add the chopped tomatoes and let them absorb the warmth and taste of the other ingredients. Don’t cook them so the dices stay intact.
Remove the frying pan from the heat source immediately after that.
Add the al dente cooked pasta into to the frying pan and mix the ingredients so the pasta can absorb all the flavours.
Add salt & pepper to your liking
Serve in deep (pre-heated) plates and garnisch with some parsley/basil
