The Monsieur Lacroix capsule collection for Desigual marks a return to Desigual’s basic and more subtle elements. The colour palette is based on bright shades, primary colours and refined tones (deep red, acid green and sky blue…) as well as other duskier and more exotic shades (ochres, salmon, khaki, …). Embroidery and brightly coloured detailing are also featured as a tribute to the traditions of the vibrant Spanish fashion brand.
On one hand, there’s a strong focus on basic black and white in simply cut items with prints and Op-Art-style contrasting blocks which make use of geometric lines, stripes, targets or Desigual’s classic daisy which is making its comeback this season. On the other hand the Mediterranean spirit with its navy or ‘spa’ aesthetic in vermillionand navy blue has taken over the other part of the collection with sketches of the city of Barcelona, drawn by Monsieur Lacroix. To top things of Paisley or Cashmere prints are combined with other geometric prints as well as vivid butterfly designs mixed with flowers and what’s more. Nice ! www.desigual.com
