The other day we’ve received this invite with the question if we would like to sample some funky cocktails based on this lovely and pure elderflower liquor, St-Germain. Needless to say that we’re talking about the ultimate French spirit made out of 100% fresh elderflower blossoms. Oh yeah, all this would happen in sumptuous setting accompanied by a lovely and nostalgic brunch and decanted with a burlesque atmosphere . Oh well, why not ? 🙂
Delicious St-Germain inspired cocktails, matching dishes, an awe inducing setup at the botanical gardens in Meise and some burlesque girls from London: what else does someone need to be happy ? (insert giggle here) For all the ladies out there : we have no current knowledge of burlesque men, should they exist.

The peeps at St-Germain really walked the extra mile to organise this amazing event at an amazing location. The atmosphere was giggly, girly yet amazingly stylish. The food and matching cocktails too: gravlax of salmon with fresh herbs, elderflower blossoms and dressing of citrus fruit, crusty egg with green asparagus and hollandaise sauce with St-Germain, roulade of guinea fowl with foie gras and in elderflower caramelised apples, brioche toast with crumbled roquefort and apricots with syrup of St-Germain, crème brulée with salad of pink grapefruit.
Our favourite St-Germain cocktail that day ? ‘L’Ours de la Poupée’ based on 12 year old Dewar’s infused with smokey bacon, a notch of (of course) St-Germain. Came in second: ‘Coeur de Joie’ with Bombay Sapphire, St-Germain and fresh juice of Yuzu. Sacrilicious ! Therefore: hurry up to your selected supermarket grab a special St-Germain box with a bottle of St-Germain, a mixer jar and get busy creating your own delicious summer cocktails.
