London based visual artist Robert Bradford creates his life-sized sculptures, like this colourful dog, completely out of old plastic toys that are no longer useable. To that he adds fun stuff like brushes, combs, etc. What’s so marvelous about this kind of art is that every now and then some enlightened spirit starts thinking about all that junk we just throw away and actually does something beatiful with it.
“The shapes and forms that the toys have, are as or more important to me than what they are. If the final object is to work the toys must ‘fit int0 ‘, do their job as anatomy elements, they cannot be allowed to get away with too much. The toys are getting a second coming, for good or evil they are back, they want more attention than they have been getting. They want to live longer”, dixit Robert Bradford. Lassie would be proud, and we are too, that’s for sure. www.robertbradford.co.uk
