Although this dress is made out of milk, it doesn’t have an expiration date. German micro-biologist and fashion designer (now, that’s an extraordinary combination) Anke Domaske developed a textile based on proteins in milk, called ‘casein’. The design of the textile doesn’t involve any chemical processes but is obtained by heating through which molecules start creating junctions that lead to fibers that can be processed in clohting. The amino acids in the milk stay intact, that’s why this ‘milk fiber’ is antisceptic and prevents transpiration.
The ‘Qmilch’ is not just a concept dress. This ‘milk’ fabric has been commercialized under the name Milkotex and has started a worldwide production with ‘Mademoiselle Chi Chi’ as their fashion house. Price of a Qmilch dress should start as of 150 € (that is about 200 $). Moreover, you can wash a Qmilch dress just like any other dress and it won’t smell bad after a few weeks because this is a dress without an expiration date. Amazing, don’t you think ? We do.
