The ‘Timenauts’ from artist Paula Braconnot aka v.i.t.r.i.o.l. are inspired by a visit she made to the Raimondo di Sangro chapel where she saw two XVII century anatomical studies: a man & a pregnant woman. Afterwards she went to a nearby bar and still obsessed by the anatomical studies she spotted this very kitsch clock : a leprecon with a gigantic clock inserted on his belly. And hence was born the ‘Timenauts’ which you can admire here. Another amazing thing of these creations is the fact that the artist cannot reproduce the ‘Timenauts’. It’s a one shot, just like the better medieval painters used to go about. Picasso ones said: ‘every act of creation is preceded by an act of destruction’. Right as rain ! vtriol.wordpress.com
