Tommy Hilfiger announces the launch of a limited-edition holiday capsule collection: Preppy Holidays. The capsule collection follows the Spring 2011 release of the globally renowned Prep World collection celebrating the ancestry of preppy classics with a twist. The launch was commemorated with a global tour featuring a series of pop-up stores and events across the globe hosted by Tommy Hilfiger and prep expert Lisa Birnbach. The Preppy Holidays capsule collection continues Prep World’s unprecedented offering of preppy essentials with a twist for men, women and children, which make the ultimate holiday gifts.
“This is the most quirky and fun holiday capsule collection we’ve ever designed as a brand,” said Tommy Hilfiger. “It’s wonderful to be bringing something truly unique and different to our consumers all over the world. The capsule collection consists of timeless and exclusive preppy gifts with the all important Tommy Hilfiger twist that consumers around the world will love to give and receive during the holiday season.” The Preppy Holidays capsule collection offers apparel for men, women and children, including a holiday pullover for men made with the classic winter Fair Isle pattern, a ruffled checked shirt for women, and a plaid pajama set for the entire family. Also available is a range of accessories and novelty items, including stuffed toys, scented candles, nighttime accessories, gloves and an umbrella. Next to the wide variety of items the exclusive collection has to offer, the line is set apart by deluxe plaid used especially for the holiday season. The all-essential plaid, inspired by Scottish tartan, has been playfully interpreted and used in the most surprising places, from the turn-ups and lining of chino pants to the cuffs of the classic blazer. Each item will be packaged in a specially designed box and bag to complete the perfect holiday gift. The Preppy Holidays collection for men, women and children will be available online, in Tommy Hilfiger stores and in selected department stores as of November 2011. www.tommy.com
