Surreal dinner by Ice-Watch & Charles Kaisin Video by etvonweb.be
A few weeks ago we experienced one of the most original evenings in 2017. Mid September the Belgian brand Ice-Watch exceeded all expectations with a “surreal dinner”, directed by Belgian designer, architect and scenographer Charles Kaisin. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the brand, 400 guests were invited in Bastogne to enjoy a very animated evening with themes varying from pop art over Japan to Tintin. Ice-Watch had just signed a license agreement with Moulinsart to integrate in the coming years personalities of the iconic Tintin cartoon and strip series into its watches. Not less than 200 waiters served the guests sitting at four long tables and changed costumes at every course with naturally at their wrist every time a different theme fitting Ice Watch. Besides the numerous shows, one of the highlights – literally – was the text “Je n’ai pas le temps. I don’t have time”, composed of letters in inflammable cotton glued and sawn on a fireproof table cloth. As an endlessly long fuse, the text burned slowly over a distance of tens of meters. Tension and a unique spectacle were assured!
