“Whether she was sitting behind the steering wheel or on the roof of the Opel Corsa, Choupette was very relaxed. Afterwards, however, she slept for more than twelve hours.” (Karl Lagerfeld)
Because the theme of “Supermodel on car” gradually began to get a little boring, fashion designer and photographer Karl Lagerfeld summoned a very, very special model for the 2015 Opel calendar: his Burmese cat ‘Choupette’. The four-legged star with almost 46,000 Twitter followers is not a newcomer in the photo studio and posed earlier in the arms of supermodel Linda Evangelista for the cover of German Vogue. Now, there’s the exhibition “Corsa Karl and Choupette” that can be seen for free at the Palazzo Italia, Unter den Linden 10, in Berlin until February 22th. Remarkable: this time the exhibit is not focused on Karl Lagerfeld but on his lovely cat, Choupette.
“Whether she was sitting behind the steering wheel or on the roof of the Opel Corsa, Choupette was very relaxed”, Karl Lagerfeld explained after the footshoot. “Afterwards, however, she slept for more than twelve hours. “Choupette Lagerfeld is the second cat with a starring role in the campaigns for the Opel Corsa, the trendy city car that just launched its fifth generation in 32 years. Leading role for the calendar of the first generation Corsa (1982 – 1993), was for Tom, the antihero of the cartoons that chases mouse Jerry behind the steering wheel of the nimble city car. Lagerfelds photos for the Corsa calendar will be presented early 2015 during a private viewing but from 17th of December onwards you can order the Opel Corsa calendar for your house or garage.
