Fiat Ducato Panorama Flex Floor: the ultimate party car
If one minibus rises – literally and figuratively speaking – with head and shoulders above the rest in terms of festival busses it definitely is the ‘Fiat Ducato Panorama Flex Floor’. The name speaks for itself and reveals already a major advantage of this minibus. Thanks to the adaptable floor plan this minivan is ideal for transporting artists, vips or festival fans.
Simple rows one behind the other facing front, or seats facing each other for comfy conversations? You can choose yourself the layout of the seven comfortable seats in the back. These individual rear seats feature integrated seatbelts and are attached on three aluminium guides which allow you to move, rotate and remove the seats easily and quickly. They allow you to change the dimensions of the luggage compartment and the passenger area for the best configuration every time. Moreover these rails also function as anchoring device for wheelchairs, so no one should be excluded from the festival fun.
As the new Fiat Ducato measures 2.52 metres in heigt it is the only minibus in which almost any adult can comfortably stand up, enjoy stretching his legs or make a ministroll in the van during long travels.. The comfortable individual seats and large overhead storage room comparable to that in the Thalys do the rest.
Working instead of partying
Is this year’s festival fun allready history and are you facing a weekend of hard work? Having to move stuff from one house to another, from a furniture shop to your living room or from your garden to the container park? Just remove the rear seats from the Fiat Ducato Panorama Flex Floor and you can enjoy the volume of a large van. Do you want to move expensive stuff or vips on a regular basis? Then you might order the side windows with darkened glass to provide the necessary privacy.

We tested the Fiat Ducato Panorama FlexFloor L2H2 Panorama 2.3 (150 hp) diesel engine and our first impression was that together with the Mercedes V-Class it was the only minibus that was equipped in a very comfortable way. Yes, indeed we must say that testing some other brands we got the impression that these car manufacturers think that drivers of minivans don’t like any comfort at all. That they are rough farmers or sailors void of any comfort what so ever. Anyhow in our test car we could enjoy the automatic Comfort-Matic gearbox as well as eg extra safety features as lane departure waring (LDW).

Plus and minus
+ the lowest consumption in its segment according to the manufacturer 6.3 – 7 l/100km (depending on model and version). We noted 8.1 l/100 km with the 2.3 (150 hp) diesel engine.
+ the ceiling of the van is so high and the corridors in between the seats are so large that you can enjoy stretching your legs or make a mini stroll in the van during long travels.
+ we loved the comfort in the car
– the loads of space you enjoy in the back of the van contrast fiercely with the tiny glove compartiment in the front. Where do you put your car documents?
– the van does not enter most underground parkings, we couldn’t find any automatic car wash that could welcome the van because of its height and the large side tresh hold.
– quickly loading a big cupboard in a flat box is quite hard as you can not put down the back rests of the seats. For moving stuff you really first need to remove the back seats.
– contrary to many other minibuses the Fiat Ducato only features one sliding side door
– the rpm of the 2.3 (150 hp) engine regularily drop down in a bit anoying manner even in the normal acceleration process
