Festivals and music moves people… and cars. Vans in particular are very handy festival appliances. A summer season plenty of music festivals on your bucket list? That is, as the rest in life, a matter of putting priorities. In our WOW* season Festivalitis special – which appears twice a week during coming weeks – we help you choose the ideal van to rent/buy/borrow for maximum festival pleasure. First in row is the Mercedes-Benz V-Class CDI A2.
Music festivals are – off course – all about music. But what better than a car with lots of space and a great music installation to start off any regular weekend? Our Mercedes-Benz V-Class 220 CDI A2 (that is the longer version with 3.2 metre long wheelbase) was equipped with the standard sound system with a 2-way front and rear speakers. Play it loud and enjoy the quality of the system. In no time it will put you in a festival mood. The best part of it: it is standard so no need to put down extra money if you want it on your Mercedes-Benz V-Class.
Do you prefer your friends to set the mood? Then the Mercedes V-Class 220 CDI might come in handy as the configuration of the A2 (our test version) can transport 8 adults in total. This configuration, the comfortable seats with arm rests in the front, the two row with each time three seats in the back (the middle one is a folding seat) and the tinted windows, make the car also an ideal partner for organizations that want to do some VIP shuttling. More adventurous people can also take out advantage on that level. Head of with your Mercedes V-Class direction touring busses and just drive buy when the steward at the gate is not paying too much attention. You might be lucky and get into the secured area with your tinted window shuttle bus. Running into a VIP would make this experience complete. In any case it would be a WOW* experience. Make sure not to forget to ask for a signature – why not – with non erasable ink on you Mercedes-Benz V-Class.
Two bedroom suite
As the summer season is known for thunderstorms, so now and than festivals also come with loads of rain. Remember the storm at Pukkelpop a few years ago. Particularly, at these moments it comes in very handy that you don’t have to sleep in an unstable tent at a camping. Just slide open the two side doors of your Mercedes-Benz V-Class and you both easily can take place at your side of the bed, at least when you have put down the backrest of the chairs and have put a big mattrass or two one person mattrasses on the seats. This configuration offers you also a great way to escape from mosquitos, loud neighbours or drunk people falling over or peeing against your tent. Moreover the tinted windows offer you all privacy and make sure no one can peep inside whenever you had x-rated plans. Apart from sleeping comfort inside as a driver you can count on high-quality materials, nappa leather, ambient lighting, a free-standing central display, multifunction steering wheel and a touchpad to control the display.

Best van ever
During our test drive we discovered that the Mercedes-Benz V-Class offers you the advantage of sitting high and keeping a good overview however it doesn’t drive as a regular van at all. No, it drives much better. No, it is the best ‘van’ we’ve ever driven! That is probably also the reason why Mercedes-Benz does not call it a ‘van’ but ‘the Mercedes of the MPV segment’. The new V-Class is powerful and agile, a combination with which the car maximizes driving dynamics and comfort. Because it’s a Benz, you also get lots of electronic assistants in the shape of agility control (adaptive damping), adaptive ESP and attention assist, all first introduced on the S-Class. It’s clear that the V-Class borrowed a lot of stuff from the S-Class and therefore it stands out versus the Viano.
Another plus of the new V-Class is that noise levels remain low thanks to optimally reduced interior noise. The new V-Class opts for luxury, convenience and driving comfort. That’s clear!
