The least you can say about the ‘Pinsofa 1’ by Demeter Fogarasi is that it’s very playful thanks to a universal theme. As its name gives away, the backrest of the ‘Pinsofa 1’ is made up of giant ball-ended pins like those typically used in the tailoring world.
Designed by Demeter Fogarasi during a project called ‘The New Textile Furniture’ at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design, the ‘Pinsofa 1’ is subtly abstract and entirely modern. “My main idea was to have a playful concept, what refers to the inner child in every one of us. Enlarged objects by themselves generate the feeling of being little as children”, according to the talented Hungarian designer.
