Swarovski unveils its first chronograph watch, the ‘Octea Chrono’. The ‘Octea Sport’ style provides the platform on which to bring together all of the company’s Swiss watch-making expertise and to create a watch of optimal quality – the ‘Octea Chrono’. This strong addition to the flagship ‘Octea Sport’ line simply had to be made in purple, one of the collection’s key colors. Design, innovation and precision are the bywords of Swarovski’s Watches collection. With its sporty and ultra-feminine style, the ‘Octea Chrono’ is a perfect combination of elegance and originality. Its unidirectional rotating bezel, cut from a single piece of clear crystal, reveals the minutes in graduated purple tones upon a sunray-patterned purple dial. The dial features three counters which indicate minutes, seconds and tenths of seconds. The second counter nestles within a circle of pavé crystals, giving the watch a truly chic and feminine touch. Swarovski’s name is signed above the date indicator at 4 o’clock, echoing the metallic, handapplied Swan logo which appears at 12 o’clock.
These touches are complemented by the round, luminescent index markers, classic in sports watch design. As always, the hour and minutehands are faceted and luminescent, and the second hand eagerly marks each passing moment. The notched crown features the Swan logo, which is protected by a glass cabochon, and is flanked on either side by two push buttons that activate the ETA chronograph mechanism. Slightly larger than the classic “Octea Sport”, the 40 mm steel case presents the Swanflower® pattern and also certifies that the watch is Swiss made. Finished to the highest quality, the watch is water resistant to 50 meters. A purple rubber strap creates a sporty yet sophisticated look. Its six tone-on-tone Amethyst Diamond Touch Light crystals, set by hand, reaffirm once more the day-to-night elegance of this timepiece.
