© UberThe advance of the taxi service Uber seems to be unstoppable. But CEO Travis Kalanick wants to go further, much further. Following to the man behind the idea it’s not Uber’s ultimate goal to offer cheap taxi rides but to make owning a car redundant. “Uber doesn’t grow if owning a car is still cheaper”, says Kalanick.
Therefore his goal is to make the Uber shuttles so efficient that they will be cheaper for most people than actually owning a car. Well, there you a have a bold statement. Anyways, stirring up the discussion about mobility (especially in big cities) is always a good thing. We won’t see people commuting to their work over distances of 70 miles or more by Uber Taxi but in (and around) megacities there is still lots of space to optimise the mobility and ecology mix.
